Włodzimierz Żmuda and the PKP Regional Transportation Director Jacek Zadęcki. It is the result of the second stage of a review of projects whereby the Wieliczka - Kraków  project has been qualified to the third (and last) stage of verification. Inkeeping with the document, 100 mln Euro is to be allotted to Małopolska.

Out of this sum  a reconstruction of the objects in the "Wieliczka" Railway Station is being planned along with the modernization of the "Wieliczka Rynek" station.
The additional EU funds shall allow financing of initiatives which shall raise the quality level of the public transport in Cracow, Wieliczka and the environs and shall allow for good organisation of the EURO 2012.
Inkeeping with the project - the sum of 100 mln Euro (and there'e a great chance of the allotment) would be dedicated most of all to the following causes:
modernization of the the railway route no.109 Kraków Bieżanów - Wieliczka
construction of the monitoring system at the following stations and stops: Wieliczka, Wieliczka, Rynek, Kraków Główny, Kraków Grzegórzki, Kraków Łagiewniki, Kraków Batowice
construction and purchase of the information system for the travellers: Wieliczka, Wieliczka Rynek, Kraków Główny, Kraków Grzegórzki, Kraków Batowice,
construction of the parking Park&Ride in Wieliczka, Kraków Batowice, Kraków Swoszowice.
construction and purchase of the ticket distribution and identification system
construction of the interchange knots (tram, bus, bus - railway)
modernisation of the railway route no 94 Kraków Płaszów - Oświęcim in the sector Kraków Bonarka - Kraków Łagiewniki - Kraków Swoszowice.
reconstruction of the Kraków Główny Station
construction of the station Kraków Grzegórzki

The commencement of works - in accordance with the forwarded project - is to be seen starting between 2008 and 2009 and to be finished in 2012.
From the point of view of the Wieliczka residents the most important are the fragments of the project related to the modernisation of the railway route Bieżanów - Wieliczka as well as the reconstruction of the maltreated objects of the Polish State Railways (PKP). Total reconstruction is being planned in case of the first station in Wieliczka, presently in a very bad state, where an interchange centre is to be built along with an underground parking (up to 300 vehicles), and the information and canteen stations.
