The great rennovation process of the railway lines around Cracow as a part of construction of the integrated system of collective communication in the Cracow agglomeration shall start in Wieliczka, inkeeping with the efforts of our municipality.
Our residents can be really satisfied. Next year the first stage of formation of modern suburban railway shall commence whereby rails between Bieżanów and Wieliczka shall be laid. Thanks to the European Union funds a chance appeared for carrying out the construction of railways integrated with the urban transport, connecting - among others -Wieliczka with Cracow.Moreover, last week, the Ministry of Infrastructure allotted to the Malopolska region an additional sum of 100 mln euro;modernization of the connection with Wieliczka has been included in the plans.
Integration of the railways with the urban transport means that the suburban trains from Wieliczka shall run with the same frequency as the urban communication - meaning - every 10-30 minutes.
In Cracow, the passengers shall have an opportunity to change to a fast tram and - which is worth stressing - they will not need another ticket.
The integrated communication system in the Cracow agglomeration allows change of transport using one valid ticket.
The platform network shall be developed - several new platform shall appear -among others - in Bronowice, Dąbie and Nowa Huta.
The modernization of railways in the region shall allow modern suburban trains to travel using the already existent rails.
