A town of new opportunities

The construction of a swimming pool is in progress as part of the Educational and Recreational Centre, complete with a concert hall that will seat one thousand.
Another programme in progress is the overall regeneration of the town with a revamp of the main square and revitalisation of green areas, including the Mickiewicz Park.
The Upper Market, which dates from 1290 and has a rich history, is planned to function as the town’s central meeting-place, as is the adjacent market place, designed with a multifunctional interior. It is the intention of the town authorities to add splendour and life to areas that are currently neglected and underrated, although they are located in the vicinity of the salt mine and important historical monuments. With a view to preserving the cultural heritage and improving the appearance of the city, the borough supports the renovation of valuable townhouses and chapels every year, allocating more than 800 thousand zlotys from its budget. Attractively renovated historical locations will make up a rich offer for tourists coming from around the world.
