On Saturday afternoon an anniversary event took place organised by the local Voluntary Fire Brigade, celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

On the square in front of the Fireman's House gathered the residents of Zabawa and environs, who participated in various games and contests prepared by the organisers.

The Zabawa branch of the District and Civic Public Library also participated in celebrations of the anniversary holiday through preparation of the readers' contests.

At the end of the event a summer dancing party took place.

The sunny weather encouraged the public - both younger and the older - to participate in contests such as hitting the target - the bollard - with a stream of water from the high pressure aggregate as well as in the competition, the aim of which was the fastest possible dressing in fireman's uniform.

Girls and women enjoyed the possibility of consulting professionals from the field of health and beauty at a special stand.

The consultants taught how to prepare a beautiful make-up, manicure and what to do to get a good, healthy look.

A professional first aid demonstration took place as well. All who decided to participate received a gift - a handy first-aid kit.

There also was an extremely spectacular demonstration of removing a hornet nest using special equipment prepared by the Zabawa firemen. "The hornet action" was conducted under supervision of the head of the Zabawa Voluntary Fire-Brigade, Mariusz Zaleński, while the rest of the contests and games prepared for the attending residents were coordinated by the chairman of the Zabawa Voluntary Fire-Brigade, Tadeusz Luraniec.
