Among the chosen ones we can find the project significant for the Wieliczka Municipality, concerning the "Integrated system of the collective transport in the Cracow agglomeration for the needs of the Euro 2012 organisation", as a part of which modernization of the railway route Kraków Bieżanów-Wieliczka is being planned.

Since long the Wieliczka authorities are trying to solve the problem of the neglected Polish National Railways areas as well as the issue of modernization of the railway route Wieliczka – Cracow. Let us recall that the effect of the negotiations between the Mayor of Wieliczka and the Polish National Railways authorities is the concept of the development of the areas in the environs of the Polish National Railways railway route in the centre of Wieliczka.

This concept shall be fully utilised in order to specify the range of the investment works in the Feasibility Study concerning the issue of "The Integrated System of the Collective Transport on the Cracow agglomeration for the needs of the Euro 2012 organisation".

According to the plans, the Feasibility Study for the project is to be ready by the end of this year, while the realization of the entire undertaking shall be carried out by the end of 2011.

Securing of the co-financing from the European Union fund for the project entitled "The Integrated System of the Collective Transport in the Cracow agglomeration" is the key issue as far as the realization of the long-awaited rebuilding of the neglected railway areas in Wieliczka goes.

Modernization of the railway route no.109 between Cracow and Wieliczka is being planned as well, as is the liquidation of most of the railway sidings which are out of order along with the warehouses, in order to free these areas for development.
