The concert weekend of the Camerata in the Slovak Republic

From Friday to Sunday (23rd-25th May) the Choir of the Camerata Music Society from Wieliczka visited the town of Zvolen with concerts, invited by the town's local government. The choir represented our town during the celebrations of the 765th anniversary of the town of Zvolen and 125th anniversary of the Town of Zvolen Choir celebrations.During the official meeting with the Zvolen authorities in the Civic Theatre chairman of the choir from Wieliczka, Elżbieta Achinger handed Elżbieta Stanikova, the vice-mayor of Zvolen the congratulations letter from the mayor of Wieliczka, Artur Kozioł. She also forwarded a congratulations letter to the conductor of the Zvolen choir - Mr Bożidar Vongrej.


The choristers from Wieliczka partook in the gala concert in the civic theatre where they performed along with the two Slovak choirs - the Town of Zvolen Choir and an ensemble from Brezno. They've also partook in the open-air concert and gave a 40 minutes long performance in the concert hall of the town of Sliač.

The Camerata has also participated in the Sunday holy service in Zvolen.
The Camerata was epspecially warmly applauded after the performance of J.F.Handel 's "Alleluia", "Alleluia" by R. Twardowski, Mazurka by S.Moniuszko from the opera "The Haunted Manor", negro spirituals "Freedom" and the folk songs.

The great concert appearances made by our choir in the Slovak Republic were a great chance to present our town in the best possible way. It was possible thanks to the financial aid of the Wieliczka Town and Municipality.
