The concert of organ and symphonic music.

On Sunday (15th June 2008) in the St.Klemens Church the First International Organ and Chamber Music Festival took place, the patronage over which was taken by: the Mayor of Wieliczka and the Wieliczka district foreman.

 The concert was made of two parts: the organ music and symphonic music.The organ pieces were performed by the distinguished Hungarian composer and organist Sylwestr Rostetter while the symphonic works were performed by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra.
In the first part of the concert the numerously gathered public had a chance to listen to:
 - Prelude, Fugue and the d-minor Chaconne by Johann Pachelbel
 - the chorale Nun komm, der heiden Heiland by Nicolaus Bruhns
 - the c-minor Prelude and Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach
 - the f-minor Sonata op.65 no.1 by Felix Mendelssogn-Bartholdy
The wonderful organ concerto was performed by Rostetter on the historic 19th century organs constructed, according to various sources, by the Cracow organ master Ignacy Woyciechowski. Sylwestr Rostetter is the conductor of the choir in the St.Margaret of the Arpada line from Veszprém church.
In 2005 he also founded the Polish St.Kinga choir at the Polish Church in Budapest, the aim of which is propagation of the Polish music and maintaining the Polish identity among the Poles in Hungary.In the second part of the concert Ludvig van Beethoven's composition was to be heard - Symphony no2 in D-major op.36 performed with the youthfull passion and great professionalism by the youngest symohony orchestra in Poland, the Beethoven Academy Orchestra.It has been founded in 2003 for the occassion of the 53rd festival Junger Kunstler Bayreuth.It is made of the most distinguished students of the European music universities under the care of Maciej Klejdysz (violinst).The first conductor is Michał Dworzyński.
The wonderful music and historic scenery created extraordinary and unforgettable atmosphere.
