The successive stage of extension of the playground in the Mickiewicz Park is nearing the end. In the initial stage of its construction a huge pirate ship with a slide, a crow's net, stepladders and secret passages has been installed.
On the other hand various rope constructions such as obstacle course, globes for climbing or a cobweb have been placed in the extended part of the playground.Presently finishing works related to levelling the ground onto which the sand is to be poured out are still underway. That's when the part of the playground which is being utilised shall be connected to the newly extended part thus creating a large, generally accessible, original playground.The construction of a new playground in the Mickiewicz Park has been divided into two parts. In the first phase, which has been completed last year, a device imitating a real ship, a carousel, swings and a rocker have been placed above the pond. In the second phase, which is nearing end now, towers are being constructed, designed for the children dreaming of fairytale knights and princesses.
The bastille is constructed of two towers connected by a bridge made of rope. Naturally there also shall be a slide and ladders.
The whole area on which new devices have been placed has been especially prepared for this occassion. A green labirynth is also to be constructed of real shrubs.
An information concerning the way the playground should be utilised has been placed by the entrance in order to ensure the safety and comfort of both the children and the parents.
On warm, sunny days the playground is filled with children who together with their families come to spend the free time here. Soon they shall also be able to play in the extended part of the playground. The modern playground in the Mickiewicz part is an investment of our Municipality.
