The first day of the Economic Forum

Since yesterday Wieliczka has been participating in the 18th Economic Forum in Krynica Zdrój. The exhibition stand presents the areas located in the emerging Economic Activity Zone.During the first day the stand has been visited by - among others - the Minister of Treasury Aleksander Grad, the Małopolska Region Marshall Marek Nawara as well as the Director of the International Cultural Centre, prof. Jacek Purchla.

During the meetings with the Wieliczka representatives especially great interest is aroused by the areas located in the Kokotów area of the Wieliczka Zone.The firms interested in investment in Wieliczka are related to the transport sector.

An idea emerged related to creation of a recreational area in the environs of the former gravel yard in the town Brzegi.

The Wieliczka Zone is very well situated as far as communication possibilities are concerned which definitely makes it more attractive to the potential investors.

The forum, taking place since yesterday, has been inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk. Then, during the plenary session entitled "The Europena dilemmas:Central Europe - partner or an extra" appearances were made by - among others - Jan Krzysztof Bielecki and Waldemar Pawlak. Mayor of Wieliczka, Artur Kozioł, also participated in the panel discussion - "Regions for the regions - the European solidarity in the European Union coherence politics", moderated by Marek Nawara - the Małopolska Voivodeship Marshall.

Today Wieliczka is going to partake in the Regions Forum which is an integral part of the Economic Forum.
