The Wieliczka Municipality invests in the development of sport. New playgrounds have been constructed – among others in:Wieliczka, Janowice, Podstolice.Development of the infrastructure for the education and recreation centre – construction of a pool and tennis courts is also underway.
Improvement can also be noticed in the area of reconstruction of the sport clubs’ infrastructure.
Presently renovation works at the eighty-years-old “Wieliczanka” Sports Society, one of the oldest clubs in the Małopolska area are being concluded.
A football section is active at the “Wieliczanka” Sports Society, where one can find senior and junior teams.
It is worth stressing that all of the teams have been quite successful recently, taking the top places in the cup-ties. In the recent years, thanks to the dotation from the Wieliczka Municipality,the “Wieliczanka” Sports Society obtained a building in which changing-rooms along with the sanitary infrastructure can be found. Presently, finishing works related to the building are underway. According to the schedule,the conclusion of the works is aniticipated for the 31st October and the overall cost of the works is 357 000 thousand PLN.
The windows in the building were changed as well and the ground for the alarm-installation has been prepared. The building has also been insulated. Outside, the courtyard has been toughened with cobblestones.
