The annual National Education Day in our Municipality has been officially celebrated on 14th October in the Primary School no 2 in Wieliczka.
The attending guests were cordially welcomed at the newly renovated school by the school’s director, Ms Krystyna Tylek.In the celebrations participated: representative of the Education Board - Jadwiga Bogucka, Father Zbigeniew Gerle, the vice-mayor of Wieliczka, Henryk Gawor, vice-chairman of the Town Council: Adam Marek Panuś and Jan Murzyn, as well as the Wieliczka District secretary Michał Roehlih, the councilors, directors, teachers and pupils of the schools in Wieliczka along with their parents.
“The future of whole societies depends to a great measure on the education” – the official part of the Friday celebrations commenced with the words of the late Pope John Paul II.
The vice-mayor of Wieliczka reminded of the extremely significant function of the teachers in the life of the young people:they help discover talents, reveal passions and learn about the world, inspire and motivate; they also are the co-authors of the pupils’ succeses.
In appreciation of the effort put into work with the youth,the Mayor of Wieliczka, Artur Kozioł, funded the prizes for the outstanding teachers.
The commemorative certificates were presented on behalf of the Mayor of Wieliczka by the vice-mayor, Henryk Gawor.
The artistic part od the Friday event has been provided by the pupils of the Primary School no 2 in Wieliczka,who prepared a special musical show related to the golden Polish autumn.
The pupils as well as the parents and teachers participating in the show performed well-known Polish songs in the beautiful autumnal stage-set.
After the end of the artistic part of the event, the director of the Primary School no2, Krystyna Tylek, encouraged the guests to have a look at the renovated school.
The symbolic cutting of the streamer in half meaning that the renovation works have been concluded has been performed by the representative of the Education Board in Cracow, Jadwiga Bogucka, vice-mayor of Wieliczka, Henryk Gawor and the director of the school, Krystyna Tylek as well as the representative of the Parents’ Council Piotr Czajczyk.
